The early withdrawal of funds from a time deposit account will be subject to an interest penalty. A depositor may not withdraw all or any part of principal of an account prior to maturity except with the consent of the Bank, which may be given only at the time such request for withdrawal is made.
If the Bank consents to withdrawal before maturity, an interest penalty will be assessed. It may be necessary to deduct a portion of the principal deposit to meet the penalty requirement.
The penalty for terms of 30 days or less is an amount equal to seven days’ interest on the amount withdrawn; for terms of 31 days or greater the penalty is an amount equal to 30 days’ interest on the amount withdrawn.
